Once again this season, Trust in Yellow will be looking to arrange coach travel to as many of Southport's away matches as possible.

The Trust is in its eighth year of providing travel to Southport’s matches on the road and in that time coaches have run to the majority of fixtures.

Every year, the Trust's coach prices are put out to tender to local companies so the season's travel can be arranged for the cheapest available prices.

It is usually the case that demand is based largely on results on the pitch and unfortunately there often aren't enough bookings to fill a coach.

As a result, the coach fares are priced on a break-even basis of 30 supporters travelling and a discount may apply if there are more than that number. There is also a £3 reduction for paying in advance.

For the longer-distance trips, the fact that two drivers are needed is reflected in the price.

This season, in order to try and run travel when there wouldn’t otherwise be enough bookings to break even, the Trust will be looking to run a smaller coach if the demand is there.

All Trust members receive a £5 discount on every coach trip. Therefore, if you are not a member, it will not take long to get back your £10 membership fee!

In a change to the policy in recent seasons, under 16s can travel for half of the advertised price if accompanied by an adult member.

After Saturday’s final pre-season friendly against Port Vale, Martin Foyle addressed supporters at Trust in Yellow’s Meet the Manager session.

Martin spoke to fans about his first three months in the job, the process of assembling a new squad and his thoughts ahead of the upcoming season.

At the end of the event, Martin became the latest member of the Trust, being presented with his membership certificate by Trust chairman Alan Scarisbrick, along with assistant manager Andy Porter.

The Trust would like to thank Martin for giving up his time to speak to supporters at the end of the match. Thanks also to all the fans who stayed behind to make it a good turnout in the Grandstand Bar.

The Meet the Manager is one of several initiatives run by the Trust as a way of promoting greater supporter-involvement in the club.

In order to give fans the chance to discuss more above what the Trust does, there will be a table set up outside the Jack Carr end of the ground ahead of the opening match of the season against Forest Green Rovers.

You can join as a member at any time of the year, by visiting the Trust table on Saturday or online HERE.

Three months after he sealed Southport’s Conference Premier status in the most spectacular fashion, David Fitzpatrick’s heroics at the end of last season were recognised by Trust in Yellow on Saturday.

With just over 10 minutes remaining of the Sandgrounders’ penultimate match of the campaign against Halifax Town, Fitzpatrick found the target with a blockbuster of a goal, securing a win that guaranteed Southport’s survival.

Unfortunately, the voting for the regular Goal of the Season had already taken place, but the Trust wanted to make sure David’s memorable contribution was still rewarded.

Ahead of Saturday’s Meet the Manager event, David was presented with the Trust’s Most Valuable Goal award, receiving a great ovation from fans in the Grandstand Bar.

David was presented with his award by supporter and Trust member Marcus Lamb.
