OCTOBER PLAYER OF THE MONTH

Voting for the Trust in Yellow Player of the Month for October is now open.

Every month throughout the season, fans are asked to nominate their star performer from the Southport team and one supporter will be selected to make the presentation to the winning player.

You can vote using our online voting form HERE.

October, of course, saw the arrival of Gary Brabin as manager, leading the team to two league wins and an action-packed 3-3 draw against Lincoln City.

With goals in the win at Braintree Town and the FA Cup draw with Tamworth, Luke George has been on the scoresheet twice.

Charlie Joyce found the target against Lincoln and registered a great battling performance in the win over Welling United, a result that was secured by Joe Connor’s stoppage-time strike.

Richard Brodie, Luke Foster and David Fitzpatrick have also been on target, as well as registering some solid performances.

Or has another player caught your eye in October?

Voting is open until 8pm on Friday 31 October and the presentation will be made ahead of the match against Dover Athletic game on 1 November.

You can submit your vote in any of the following ways:

- E-mail fans@trustinyellow.com

WELCOME BACK GARY BRABIN

It has been a very disappointing start to the season and a series of disappointing results have seen attendances drop alarmingly. After the Woking defeat Martin Foyle and his assistant Andy Porter left the club and Gary Brabin has been appointed as the new manager. Gary is probably best remembered by supporters for his efforts on the field as part of the successful fight to escape relegation from the Conference in season 2005/6. He also managed us for a short time in 2008 before moving on to manage Cambridge United and Luton Town.

We hope that Gary can inspire the will to win in the players that he showed as a player to help us in the battle to get away from the relegation places.

All members of TIY will wish to give Gary and his assistant Paul Carden a warm welcome to Southport and the Trust looks forward to working with them over the coming years. We hope it will be possible for us to organise a Meet the Manager event in future months.

We were all very disappointed that things did not work out successfully for Martin Foyle. As a Trust we were grateful for his friendliness and willingness to help with such things as the Meet the Manager evening and our World Cup Sweepstake draw. Results have been disappointing (though those who travelled to Grimsby will remember the long awaited away win!) but we would like to wish Martin and Andy every success in their future football careers.

The club urgently needs some stability on the playing side. All members will agree that these are difficult times at the Merseyrail Community Stadium. We only hope that Gary and Paul can bring about improved results on the field and that off the field the board improves its communication with the Trust and supporters in general and that promises are kept. The Trust wants to see the present negative atmosphere surrounding our club lifted as soon as possible.

WHO'S YOUR PLAYER OF THE MONTH FOR SEPTEMBER?

Voting for the Trust in Yellow Player of the Month for September is now open.

Every month throughout the season, fans are asked to nominate their star performer from the Southport team and one supporter will be selected to make the presentation to the winning player.

Although so far it has been a disappointing month in terms of performances, September did begin with the Sandgrounders becoming the first team this season to beat Kidderminster Harriers.

There was also an encouraging display at Eastleigh, with Joe Connor scoring in both matches, while Dom Collins, Clayton McDonald and Richard Brodie played their part.

So who gets your vote in September?

Voting is open until 8pm on Thursday 2 October and the presentation will be made ahead of the match against Woking on 4 October.

You can submit your vote in any of the following ways:

- E-mail fans@trustinyellow.com

- Text POTM followed by the player’s name and your name to 07861416859

- Complete a voting slip at the Trust office (next to the club shop)

The online voting form will be available shortly.

Since the award was introduced, the club's junior supporters have taken real delight in making the presentation to the winning player.

In a slight change to previous seasons, you can now nominate yourself, your child or any other friend or family member to present the award by contacting the Trust in the same ways you can vote above.
