TRUST IN YELLOW STATEMENT REGARDING THE DEPARTURE OF JOHN COLEMAN

The board of Trust In Yellow was disappointed to hear that John Coleman and Jimmy Bell had left the club and wish to put on record our thanks to them both for the fantastic job they did at Southport in the past few months rescuing a struggling team from a relegation that seemed inevitable at the end of January and producing some of the best home performances seen for many years.

Obviously not being involved in discussions between John and the club we cannot comment in detail on the reasons for John leaving. However, we do feel that the tone and content of the club statement on the website announcing the departure were very unfortunate and ill judged.

The statement showed a lack of the dignity and respect for the former management team we would have hoped for from our club and was also written in a way guaranteed to upset the majority of supporters. At a time when prospects seemed much more positive on and off the pitch this is an undoubted set back.

Members of the Trust will have the opportunity to express their views further at our members meeting on Thursday 15th May and these will be passed onto the club when we meet to discuss the floodlights and the possibility of further cooperation in the future.
