Att 25
Committee members present: Paul I, Paul G, Andy K, Rob U, Julia U, Jon OB, Paul OB, Andy D, Alan D, Phil C
Apologies Alan S.

Membership – total number of members since start is 392 of which 255 are active members.

Finances – bank account stands at £10,053 - £300 to be paid to Southport, Formby and Ormskirk Diabetic Society as the nominated charity for the junior band nights. The training tops for the juniors have now been paid. Coach travel is running at a loss of £583 for the season, although the golden goal on the coach has raised £227 and there was a subsidy carried over from last season.
There is a concern that the coach for the Nuneaton game will not get sufficient demand to run due to the change in kick off.
Phil is pushing to meet James to sign off the accounts.

PA system – we are awaiting permission form the club chairman to proceed with the plans to replace the speakers. Colin Hill will be invited to test the system.

Road signs are now complete

The book – the contact at supporters direct has given us a better quote for the publishing and printing which is £3000 and a 10 week lead time. The book will have a laminated front and a majority voted to go ahead and do a print run of 500 with the supporters direct publisher. The book will be approximately 220 pages long and there may be a slight delay in the anticipated launch date as meticulous checks are being carried out on the statistics. The target launch date is end Aug/early Sept and the trust will be acknowledged in the book.

Band Night – last Friday was a very successful junior event with a full house that generated £300 after costs and the proceeds have been generated to charity. Further events are planned for 15/3 - Silverchild, 22/3 – another junior event and 05/04 which is still being worked on. The feedback is that this is one of the best venues in the area for this event. The Valentines night event was cancelled as it was decided that there was insufficient interest to justify the costs. It was also suggested that secure storage was required for the PA system.
Paul G advised that proceeds from every other U18 band night would go to a nominated charity and all the other band events would go towards the grandstand bar improvements. We have access from the bank for large cheques to promote the charitable donations. The number of adult bands performing will increase in the next 12 months. It was also clarified that the Sunday Bingo events were not Trust events and are arranged by Southport Community Radio. Paul I offered to contact Dan to change the official website to clarify this.
Wish list for Equipment:
Paul G advised he would like the following equipment:
Mike stands - 3 tall @ £37.50
3 short @£38.78
Vocal Mike - £69.00
General Mike - £69.00
Speak on cable - £10 x2 (required immediately – Paul G asked to proceed and purchase)
Long Cable - £15.00
Snake(tidy cable) - £135.50
Portable stage – approx £500
Portable lighting

A lock in cupboard for storage was also required and it was advised that Alan S could get hold of this free of charge.
It was agreed by all present that 50% of the grandstand bar funds would be put towards equipment and the remainder towards furnishings.
The stage would be the priority purchase as it was felt it would enhance both the band night and any other functions in the bar.

The murder mystery evening is progressing and Alan S and Paul G are working on.

Question Of Sport – new date is set for 29th March. Paul G and Jon to co-ordinate the event.
End of season event/player of the year award and player v supporters match are all subject to the fixtures due to the playoffs and would be monitored nearer to the time.
Coach travel – it was noted that some non members had paid members fees on previous coaches and it was requested that membership cards be shown on all coaches. Rob passed over a list of all current members for use on the coaches.
Peter Rigby brought up the fact that no suitable storage area had been found for the chairs that he was storing and he was advised that the trust were still looking for a suitable storage facility for the chairs.

Next meeting – Thursday 20th March –7.30pm Grandstand Club.
