Minutes Of Meeting - 17/08/06

Att 16

Jon advised that Dave Chalmers has now given the trust the go ahead to write a regular column in the Visiter. Jon K has offered to write the articles and will submit a piece for next week's edition.

The new website - www.trustinyellow.com is up and running. There has been lots of positive feedback and the trust would like to thank Dave Cooper for his efforts in setting up a fantastic site. There is still room for additional content and the possibility of advertising

The latest newsletter has gone out to all our internet based members and has had very positive feedback.

The sign at the Shelbourne has now been made, but is waiting for the frame to be completed and should be up in the very near future. The trust will be investigating the possibility of setting up a further sign at the Morris Dancers and possibly at the Plough and the Riverside.

Coach travel - for those that were not aware, the first trust coach of the season had some glitches on the way to Halifax. Severe traffic problems and a mechanical problem meant that the coach arrived at the ground 5 minutes before kick off. The trust has liased with Elite travel to ensure that incidents like this should not happen again. The coach was full and made an approximate profit of £140, which will go to subsidise some of the longer trips.

At present there are about a dozen seats available for the Stafford game on a first come first served basis and plenty of seats are still available for the Burton game. The coach company has advised that the monitors will be available for the Burton game onwards.

Floodlight plans - the trust plan to arrange a meeting with Hayden and Barry and a local college to progress the plans further. Jon advised that the lighting company has done that many jobs for football clubs that they have a built in application form for grants from their work with the football foundation.

Away supporters information, including the promotion of the town, is still being developed by Alan.

The race night is provisionally scheduled for Saturday, 30th September. No plans have been drawn up as yet and Paul Isenwater has volunteered to co-ordinate and plan events.

Last Saturday's matchday volunteers generated a record breaking £844 in revenue from coach travel bookings, merchandise and new memberships. The trust would also like to show their appreciation to Rob and Julia for their efforts in helping out tidying the club shop and running the shop last weekend. Rob and Julia put in an awful lot of hours over the weekend and I'm sure the club appreciate their efforts as well.

Anyone wishing to help out at the Rushden game taking coach bookings, selling merchandise and taking new membership is asked to meet at the club shop at 2pm.

Rob advised that the current membership number stands at 271.

It was suggested that the trust run a sportspersons(for the politically correct) dinner/ legends dinner with a meal and guest speakers and involve an auction of all the donated goods we have.. This has the potential to be a big fundraiser and could be a suitable tie in with the anniversary of the trust.

The trust plan to hold an EGM at the end of October, in order to officially appoint officers of the trust. Paul Isenwater will draft a letter to be distributed to all members explaining the format and asking for applications. Paul Glendenning has offered to supply stamps at cost as he can get them through his business.

The trust plan to sponsor a player this season and after reading the feedback on line and with members views at the meeting it was decided the choices in order of preference would be: 1st - Paul Cook 2nd - Mark Boyd 3rd - Ryan Robinson

One further suggestion was to try and introduce the increasing numbers of migrant workers in the town to the delights of Haig Avenue. One of the trust's remits is to go into the community and help develop links to the football club. Further research will be undertaken before we decide how to proceed.

The next meeting is provisionally scheduled for 7th September, venue to be confirmed dependant on whether the club plan to hold a forum. Further details will be announced in the various media channels
