JANUARY PLAYER OF THE MONTH

Voting in the Trust in Yellow Player of the Month for January is now open.

Every month throughout the season, fans are asked to nominate their star performer from the Southport team and one supporter will be selected to make the presentation to the winning player.

Unfortunately our online voting form is currently not working, so please submit your vote by e-mail, text, twitter or in person using the details below.

January, of course, was a month that began with the FA Cup third round tie at Derby County. It was a match that saw a number of outstanding performances, not least from goalkeeper David Raya Martin and defenders Dom Collins and Luke Foster.

It may not have been the best month in terms of results, but Collins and Foster have been consistent in the centre of the defence, while Luke George and Charlie Joyce have also been in good form. Or has another player caught your eye in January?

There are sure to be plenty of contenders this month.

Voting is open until 8pm on Monday 9 February and the presentation will be made ahead of the match against Eastleigh on Tuesday 10 February.

You can submit your vote in any of the following ways:

- E-mail fans@trustinyellow.com

- Text POTM followed by the player’s name and your name to 07861416859

- Complete a voting slip at the Trust office (next to the club shop)

A polite reminder that all votes are vetted, so any multiple entries or ones submitted without a name or valid e-mail address will not be counted.

Since the award was introduced, the club's junior supporters have taken real delight in making the presentation to the winning player. In a slight change to previous seasons, you can now nominate yourself, your child or any other friend or family member to present the award by contacting the Trust in the same ways you can vote above.

The Player of the Month award is one of several initiatives run by the Trust to promote greater supporter-involvement and strengthen the link between fans and players.
