CLASS OF 05 - REUNION UPDATE

Trust in Yellow has been delighted with the response to the 2004/05 championship reunion after details were announced earlier this week.

Almost all of the places in the two fans’ teams to play Liam Watson’s title-winning squad at the Merseyrail Community Stadium were sold within the first 12 hours, with the remaining slots now taken up.

The Trust is still looking to take six names for a reserve list in the event of any changes or non-payments, so if you want to play, contact Colin Aindow as soon as possible on 07861416859.

For those who have already booked, payment for your place is needed by this Thursday, 30 April. If payments are not received, the place will be offered to fans on the reserve list.

You can pay by cheque made payable to Trust in Yellow and posted or delivered to 89 Burnley Road, Southport, PR8 3LP, or via PayPal by clicking 'Donate' on our homepage, enter the amount payable and type 'reunion' in the comments box.

The chance to play in the game, however, is only one of the ways to take part.

The Trust wants as many fans as possible to come along to watch the match on Sunday 2 August, kick-off 2pm, and get involved by meeting the players in the Grandstand Bar afterwards.

For £5, an event ticket will be available which covers entry to the game, buffet, quiz and Q&A session. The interest in the reunion so far has been brilliant, so please continue to get involved.

CHARITY MATCH: SOUTHPORT COLLEGE V REDEAUGH BOYS CLUB

This season, Trust in Yellow’s sponsored Southport player has been striker and leading goalscorer Richard Brodie.

As well as being a regular in the Sandgrounders’ starting line-up, Richard has spent the season mentoring and coaching a Southport College team in the English College League.

To celebrate the end of their season Richard has invited his former childhood team, Redeaugh Boys Club, to take on his college team in a charity match at the Merseyrail Community Stadium on Saturday 2nd May.

Redeaugh Boys Club is one of the biggest boys’ football clubs in Gateshead and once the starting point for the likes of Paul Gascoigne and Don Hutchison.

Kick-off will be 3pm and entry to the ground is free with donations being collected during the game for Diabetes UK, a charity championed this season by Richard’s teammate and friend, Southport midfielder Luke George.

Everyone is welcome to come along to watch and show support for both the teams and Diabetes UK, with a small awards ceremony being held following the final whistle in the Grandstand Bar.
